About our key partners
The Riverfront Children’s Center empowers working families to thrive by recognizing and reducing barriers to success. Through high-quality early education and care, Riverfront nurtures the unique needs of all our families, meeting them where they are and providing equitable support. Fostering healthy bodies and minds, we provide referrals to social services when appropriate, and Riverfront’s on-site, open-to-all food pantry and hygiene closet offers healthy, fresh foods, pantry staples, and diapers and wipes. Since 1983, Riverfront has provided affordable, accessible, high-quality early education and care to the region’s families with young children. With 10 classrooms and 6 playgrounds, Riverfront serves over 100 children each weekday. Over 85% of our families rely on subsidies and tuition scholarships to attend Riverfront. Our in-house scholarship program, Scholar Dollars, fills the gap between what a working family can afford and the actual cost of care. Each family’s fees are calculated using a sliding scale fee structure put forth by the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood. Our excellent programs, accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), prepare young children with the early numeracy, literacy, and social-emotional skills that are the foundation for a lifetime of success.
